Hello devoted readers,

Sorry for the long delay. I wish I could say we were busy busy busy doing exciting things, but that's sadly not the case. Been business as usual at the Strehlo House. I'll post a couple pics and maybe a couple random thoughts and we'll call it a day. Sound good? Hopefully we can get back into the swing of things here...

Beard watch 2012. Since Wayne was showing off his beard, I thought I'd give the crowd a glance at the whiskers. Might be chopping it off in a week or so. We had a good run.

We have been skating 3 times so far. First time was pretty much a disaster, 2nd time went really well and the 3rd time was a semi disaster. Sitting on the ice was his preferred position.

Suggestions of the Week:

I recently ran through the first 3 seasons of Damages. A lawyer drama that resolves around 1 case per season. Good stuff. I think it started on FX and moved to a direct TV channel. I think it's 24esque in that 3-4 seasons might be enough. One of the main actresses is Rose Byrne and I think she might be Sam's doppelganger. Might have to do a side by side comparison soon. Sam claims she doesn't see it.

Popular Crime- Bill James- Actually read this one in the boundary waters with Jerry. Very good read. He breaks down about 25 or so of the most popular murder cases. I would recommend if you are into that sort of thing.

Long time no talk. I think this will be a short and sweet post. Working on another project right now and should hopefully have some classic vids in the next couple weeks. Anyway, onto the pics of Omaha, New Years, etc.

Sam, Max, and the Larson's took a trip to Omaha to visit Sam's cousin Steph's new baby Graeme the week after Christmas. Max had a blast painting rocks, playing the Wii, and meeting Steph's dog Wrigley.

Swimming Lessons! First one went pretty good. Only part he struggled with was when they had the kids stand on the ledge and then jump to the parent. Max more leaned over than jumped.

Hello all,

Been a while since I last blogged, so I thought I would hammer one out real quick. Lots has happened since we last chatted. Headed up to Alexandria for the Strehlo family X-Mas, went to see Ryan Adams, visited santa, and a bunch of stuff I'm sure I missed.

For all 3 of my Ryan Adams fans out there, I'd give the show an 8/10. He sounded really good and was a lot funnier than I thought he would be. Didn't rock it out as much as I would've liked though. Another source of comedy was the ushers. They were getting after people. I saw about 2 camera flashes around us and they were on those people like stink on Jeremy! Ha Ha!

Talkin Bout Stuff

Hola readers,

Well, what's new with the Strehlo's you ask? Not too much. Celebrated Turkey Day and we already put the Xmas tree up. Kinda a lazy Saturday so we decided to knock it out. We have a charlie brown ornament that talks and Max thinks it's the greatest, so we get to here that 10 times a day. We braved the Midnight shopping extravaganza on Thursday night too (minus Max). The plan was to hit up Old Navy, Kohl's, and Target. We started at Old Navy because I thought it would be a little dead. I mean it's Old Navy, it's kinda like Kohl's there is always deals to be had. Within about 15 minutes of opening the line wound around the store and almost out the door. Luckily we were in line about 5 minutes before the real madness and were out of the store in about 35-40 minutes. We stopped by Kohl's next. They did have a pair of shoes I would have bought, IF I didn't have to wait an hour in line. We decided to skip target and were home before 1:00. I think that will be my last Black Friday shopping for about 2 decades. Alright, on to the pics!

Super California Post

Chad is letting me be a guest blogger on his blog. My parents, Max and I went to California in the middle of October for my cousin Kelsey's wedding. Since Chad did not come with us, it did not make much sense for him to talk about the trip. Hopefully I do not bore you to death. I am not nearly as entertaining or as skilled in blogging as Chad is.

We left early on Tuesday morning. It was Max's first plane trip and he did really well. We had a lay over both on our trip out there and back, and Max slept both times on the second flight. I still do not think he is old enough to understand he was on a plane. I think he thought it was just a really long car trip with a lot of people in the car.

Luckily, we all got to sit together on all our flights.

Before we left we had planned to drive down to San Diego on Wednesday, but we had no set plan for what we were going to do. We decided that morning to go to Sea World. They have an entire Sesame Street section with rides, which Max loved. It was a little cooler that day, so it was not crowded at all.

Max got to meet Elmo and Zoe. We were first in line to meet them. As soon as they came out he ran up to both of them and gave them a big hug. It it was very cute.

You will notice there are not a lot of people sitting in the first few rows. If you sit in the first 10 or so rows, you are pretty much guaranteed to get wet. Since it was a chilly day, I do not think there were too many takers.

On Thursday we went to Disneyland with my Aunt Joan, Uncle Bob, and cousin Amanda. Before we left I decided not to bring or rent a stroller. Max ended up doing awesome. We got there at about 10 am and left about 9 pm. My dad, my Uncle Bob, and I carried him every once in awhile, but he walked for the most part. Our last ride of the night was Peter Pan, and the line was really long. Five more minutes in that line and I think he may have had a complete meltdown. Not surprisingly, he fell asleep about 1 minute after getting in the car when we left.
Since we were there in October, Disney was decorated for Halloween.

He was too cute when he met Minnie. He walked up to her and gave her a kiss. Then, as you can see from the picture, they rubbed noses.

Max's R2-D2 mickey ears. He wore them for about 10 minutes and never put them back on :(. They have about 50 different kinds of mickey ears. It took him at least 20 minutes to pick these out. That's too many options for a toddler.

Max and I came across a man playing the piano while waiting for the parade. I don't know where he got the energy, but he danced for awhile. I will post a video of his dancing below. He got pretty into it.

Overall, Max really loved Disney. He asks every couple of days if we can go to Disneyland tomorrow. He loved It's a Small World, Dumbo, the Tea Cups, and Winnie the Pooh. He got scared on Pinocchio and surprisingly got scared on the Buzz Lightyear ride (which I thought he would love).

On Friday, the entire family drove out to the coast to see the ocean. We went to Dana Point and Laguna Beach (sadly, no LC sitings).

It was not very warm out (70's probably), so I did not bring a bathing suit for Max. I wish I would have, Max loved the water. The water was cold, but he loved waiting for the waves to come in and to get wet. This picture is from Dana Point, but we also stopped at a beach in Laguna where he really went into the water. He probably "swam" for about 20 minutes before a big wave knocked him over. He inhaled some ocean water and then proceeded to throw it all back up on the beach (along with some of his lunch). After that, he was done with the ocean for the day.

The weather the day of the wedding was beautiful. My Uncle's family was also there, and his niece (my cousin's cousin) has a boy and a girl around Max's age. He walked up to the little girl when we got to the church and said "you look nice today." It was very cute. His dad must be teaching him something.

Max had a blast at the wedding reception. He loves to dance, but insists on dancing alone. He was on the dance floor as soon as the music began and was one of the last people on the dance floor at the end of the night. I seriously have no idea where he gets all his energy.

Most of the Larson family left on Sunday, so my parents and I decide to drive out to the coast again. This time we went to Newport Beach. It was pretty chilly so Max only got his feet wet.

You can barely see it, but there are some people swimming out there. Crazy.

On Sunday night we went to my Aunt Ginny and Uncle Greg's house. It was chilly, so Max just went swimming in the hot tub.

Overall, it was a really good trip. Max, thankfully, was very well behaved. The only thing that makes me sad is that he probably won't remember much of it when he gets older. Good thing he can just look back at this blog post to remind him!

Hello All,

I've been waiting for Sam to blog about her and Max's trip to Cali, but it doesn't look like she'll be doing that anytime soon so you are stuck with me. We'll just start with Halloween. Max dressed up as a ninja turtle, Leonardo to be exact. We hit up about 3 blocks worth. He did very good, said trick or treat maybe half of the time but always said thanks. He only reached in and grabbed the candy twice, so that's good i guess.

Greetings all,

Long time no blogging. We have been really horrible at taking pics lately. For example we went to a wedding last night and forgot to even bring the camera. Max wore some snazzy cowboy boots and was on the dance floor for like 2 hours. We had a glow stick sword that he was waving around and running in circles. You think he would take a nap or sleep in today, nope.

Jerk of the Week Award

Today was also a monumental day, almost got into my first dad fight. Well, not really but we will pretend I did. Me and Max went to the playground today and he was being a boy, saying he was an octopus and chasing the other kids. He says to one girl, "I'm an octopus, I'm going to get you". Which some dad took as I'm going to throw your kid off the jungle gym. He says, "you're not going to push my girl". I had to step in and say relax buddy, that's not what he said. Still convinced he was right he gave me a "yeah, whatever". So if you are reading this dude in the Michigan shirt, you are the Jerk of the Week!

And if you missed out. Ryan Adams is coming to the State Theatre! Been waiting for him to come for about 3 years. I'd say of my top 10 albums he probably has 3-4 of them (that list will have to wait for another time). Heading over there in December with Vern, Sam, and Sara. Should be great times. Had a tough time picking a favorite so I gave you a sampling of his new disc, check it out.

Greeters Readers,

Busy couple weeks for the Strehlo Fam. Posted a good amount of pics so i'll just write under the captions if that's alright with everyone.

The little man celebrated his 3rd birthday on 9-4. He's getting too old. We went to Sam's Club and picked out a star wars cake for his birthday party. No less than 5 hours later he changed his mind and Sam made this "mermaid" cake for the pre party festivities.

Carson, Max, and Martin. That's about as close as your going to get for all of them smiling and looking at the camera.
Carson & Max opening presents. He got quite the haul. So far I think his favorites are all the legos and the transformer action figure. That could change in 2 weeks though.

The star wars cake. It's a little shocking to me that Star Wars has had this long of a run. Fat Albert died off years ago.

Next it was off to Austin TX for Sam and myself. We got there on Thursday afternoon (sorry, no pics of that day). This was a shot from the top of mount bonnell overlooking Lake Austin.
Eating at the Shady Grove. Lot of local restaurants in the Austin Area, didn't find a lot of chains at all, which was a nice change of pace from Woodbury. Everyone likes eating outside there too, which is a little wierd, considering it was like 100 degrees every day. It wasn't horrible in the shade though.

Swimming at Barton Springs Pool. It is a spring generated pool so the water is always stays about 68 degrees year round. Even on a hot day that's chilly, but it felt good.
Sam soaking in the rays. I guess you are allowed to go topless in Austin too. We didn't see anything scandalous though. Sam wanted to get the ball rolling but luckily I stopped her.
We stopped by Sam's cousins house on Friday night and visited with Neil, Katie, and their daughter Sibley. It was nice catching up with them since we haven't seen them in a few years and it was our first time meeting Sibley.

Hot Mama's! We went down before the Longhorn football game to check out the tailgating. It was pretty nuts down there. Lot's of RV's, grilling out, some live entertainment.

Cigarette Machine. Hadn't seen one of those in about 15 years, had to document it.
Me & Lindsay on the Jackalope at the bar on Saturday. Not sure who has the funnier face. 6th street was pretty crazy on Saturday night. Lot's of bars and most were pretty packed. We behaved ourselves though and were home somewhat early. Even heard some Ween at one bar and then broke down the discography with some dude at the bar. I think he thought I was the coolest dude ever.

Lot's of exercise on Saturday night. We decided to take a pedicab a few blocks. It's still pretty hot at night and he can tell the guy was working up a good sweat.

There are tons of trailers down there that serve food. I think hands down this was Sam's favorite. It was a doughnut trailer.

Lindsay had us go to her fitness class with her on Saturday. Packed class and of course I was the only dude in there. Someone had to whip those ladies into shape though. Our abs are still sore.

Our last night we went down to the Salt Lick for some BBQ. Not going to lie, it was delicious. The place was huge too, must fit like 700 people on a busy night. Luckily it was much less than that and got to eat right away. I was about to burst for about 20 min. after the meal. They had some live music that night as well. The guy playing was going on 7 hours and asked if anyone wanted to come up and play or sing while he played. Of course the ladies volunteered me to go. I did okay, played 4 or 5 songs.

Can't trust that Day...

Hello readers, another fun filled blog edition. It was a fair heavy extravaganza the last few days. Saturday we took a trip to the Henne's so Max could hang out with his buddy Joe. We came back for Woodbury Days and some fireworks. Max wasn't a huge fan of the loud noise but rocked out to the Dweebs beforehand. Not a bad cover band in my humble opinion. Sunday was uneventful and Monday we headed to the great MN get together. We ended up doing the park and ride so we wouldn't have to deal with construction and fair traffic. Max was pretty pumped about his first bus ride. Of course while getting on the bus we realized we forgot the stroller. Max was a trooper though, did a good amount of walking and getting carried. Onto the Pics! enjoy!

$1 chocolate milk, he downed the whole thing. Bravo to you $1 milkstand. I remember I went there as a kid and you got like a dixie cup full of milk. Not this time around. Had to be a solid 9 ounces.

A Good ol fashioned Dingwop

Hello readers,

Been meaning to get a post up the last few days, just didn't get around to it. 2 weeks ago was the big trip to Fargo for Josh & Kelli's 10th anniversary. Some of the Capra crew and Gma Anne made the trip. Last week was the biggest bash of the year, Tomten music fest. We received our traditional sprinkling of rain but overall the event was great. Wayne and Del made some delicious ribs and possibly the best cuban sanny I have ever had in my life. Bravo Misgens! I got a little sloppier up there than past years, so I completely forgot to capture a lot of moments, maybe that's a good thing. Onto the pics!

Go Go Go Go.... On an adventure

Greetings readers,

I am back from a trip up nort, you betcha! Jeremy and I spent a couple days in the BWCA. It was my first trip up there. Good times. I actually kinda of thought it would be a little more miserable at times. The mosquitoes weren't too bad. If you were in the tent by 9 you didn't get too many bites. Also, the food wasn't awful at all. There was no need to get a juicy hamburger or anything after we got out. I would definitely go back again. Here is a recap of the events if you are interested. I wanted to keep a journal, but we forgot a pen.

Off we go!

About to begin the trip on the Little Indian Sioux river. What you see behind is basically what it was. Pretty narrow, long grass on both sides and a good amount of curves. A nice peaceful start, saw a very deer on the river.

What we slept in after our long first day. Actually it wasn't too bad. I probably got about 9 hours a sleep each night. More than I get at home.

Jeremy doing some portaging. The portaging wasn't too bad. I expected it to be a little harder. Only ran into one tough one portage Slim Lake to Fat Lake. About 220 rods (i'll let you find out how far that is). Took like 45 minutes to get through. There was another group making multiple trips with their gear that was there like 2 hours, so basically we are machines!

I was more of a bear pack carrier and Jeremy preferred the canoe, so it worked out nice.

Well, my Justin Bieber trick didn't work, not a lot of extra traffic this week. Maybe it was a lackluster blog entry, how dare you! Kinda a relaxing weekend for the Strehlo fam before all the madness starts up. Should be a busy next 2 months. Relaxing day at the beach on Saturday then over to the Strehlo's for dinner on Sunday.

Funny things max said- like I said before, funnier if you actually hear it:

Max: I don't feel good, my tummy hurts.
Sam: You should go lie down in your bed.
Max: I'm feeling better mommy, my tummy doesn't hurt.

Me: Would you like to go to the farmers market on Sunday.
Max: I would love to dad.

Yep, that's the newest addition. Got my motorcycle license a few weeks ago and pulled the trigger on this. 82 Kawasaki 550. Planning on doing some commuting to work. Not quite ready for that yet, but I am working on it. Thanks to Jeremy for helping to take a look at it and taking it for a spin.

Hello Bloggerinos,

Been awhile since we posted. I won't bore you with everything that has gone on (Carson's 1st b day, 4th of July, Sam Being "laid off" from the state, 2 year anniversary, etc.). Past weekend was pretty busy for us. Dining out on Friday, park, concert and bar on Saturday, and carshow Sunday.

New segment for the blog, let's called it Funny observations and moments:

A guy bumped into Sam at the bar, proceeded to then touch her face and say, you're beautiful. I was 2 feet away and didn't see any of this, so she's probably trying to make me jealous.

Max told me today that I was his hero. I asked him if it was because I was so good looking and he said yes. I guess mom Sam has some competition!

We'll have to start getting more Max quotes in here. He brought me into his room today and he wanted something in his closet- he says you're big, you should get it. Might not seem funny, but it was.

Hello readers,

Busy weekend again for the Strehlo fam. Friday we went to the Florence and the Machine concert at the MN Zoo. Good concert, didn't end up raining so that was excellent as well. I had my poncho all ready for nothing. Saturday I helped the Henne family move and Sam headed to the Stonearch Festival. Finally of course today was Fathers day and we were busy seeing the fam. Big news of the week. Max has started potty training. He went 4 times on Thursday and has kept it up. He didn't have any #1 accidents all day today. #2 is a little different story. I'll save him embarrasment 10 years down the road by retelling the bath time accident. Needless to say it was funny and gross. On to the pics!

been on kinda a blogging kick again, lucky you. Fairly busy weekend for the Strehlo fam. We headed down to Stillwater for a fun filled family day yesterday and then off to Carsons baptism today. Oh- Otis also had a near death experience too. I was petting him the other night and noticed this pinkish "growth "on his ear. After some poking around and consulting with Sam we discovered that yes, it was a ginormous dog tick. Distgusting. I was going to post a pic, but I think i would scare off half the readers, look it up if you are curious. Enough of that fun stuff, on to the pics.

Well, I believe this is 2 weeks in a row, lucky you. The title is Maxwell's new phrase. Had some free time since Max decided to pass out at like 6 today. Must've been too much pool time. Nothing too excited going on over here. Sam and Max had a grad party yesterday at Minnehaha Falls, I hear good times were had. Here are some pics below. Enjoy!

Lots has happened since our last chat. I visited the Wern last weekend, we celebrated mothers day, and took a trip up to Fargo to visit the Schunks. We also bought a new couch and chair today. Hello friends,

Been awhile since I blogged and I have a little bit of material so here we go. Not too much new at the Strehlo house. I was supposed to go to Dallas for work but it ended up getting canceled. Sadly, I won't be going to Gilley's. Max wasn't feeling well this past week and we learned he had a double ear infection. He seems to be in better spirits now. The other Chad (spaz, spazzy mcgee, ultraman) was in town for a little bit and the gang went out last night. Good times were had by all, there is a certain someone in the fam that is paying for it a little bit more than the rest (Hint: It's not me or Max). Here are some pics below. Enjoy!

Kite time! We've had some good kite flying days, although I will say our $1 kite isn't the easiest to get up in the air. Max was more interested in the streamers than the kite.

Wow, I think this is 2 Sundays in a row of new blogs, lucky you! Well, not too much new to report here in Woodbury. We took a family trip down to the Children's Museum today. Max had a blast, I think he enjoyed it more than he did last time. He did most of the stuff all by himself. No dinosaur exhibit today but they did have a lego castle area that was pretty cool. Greetings readers, if anyone is still out there. Well, where were we? Last week Sam and myself took a trip down to Vegas with the Henne's, minus the little ones. Good times were had. Rachel can give you the full rundown, but long story short we stayed an extra day in Nevada, I guess there was some snow in Minnesota or something. We are adjusting to life back home this week and have a sick kid on our hands for what seems like the fist time. As I right this Max is hanging out laying on the floor- his preferred sleeping spot when he is sick. Here are some pics from the last few weeks, enjoy. One restaraunt had a map of the US. I guess we are known for our farms and planes. And Iowa has a killer carnival I guess.
Weather held up nicely. Mid 50's wasn't amazing but it was supposed to rain 2-3 days and we didn't feel any rain.
Bunnies at the Bellagio. Probably my favorite Casino there. I thought that was the high roller spot until we saw $500 blackjack tables at the Wynn and 4 people gladly filling up spots there. The private sections had $1,000 slots too.

Me and T Bar at the Flamingo - I think. Most of the casino's are connected together and it all starts to feel like the same place. I had a little bit of that in downtown at Binions, the 4 queens, etc. Completely confused.

View from our first hotel - The Monte Carlo. Overall it was good but the water power in the shower was comparable to a firehose. I think I had a gallon of water on the floor after my first run.

View from our 2nd hotel at Treasure Island. Liked TI more. We had a better view and I didn't get any bruises from the shower.

Pirate show at TI, pretty good for a free show. I wanted to commend the pirates for taking a 20 ft swan dive into what had to be very chilly water. Through our booking we also got free tix to the beatles love - Cirque De Soleil. Highly recommend it if you are a fan of beatles tunes and people jumping around.

Couldn't find a good vegas vacation clip. More Nick Papagorgio People! Swingers will have to do.

Thought it was time for an update since it has been so long. Here is what is new since the last time we posted:

Max turned 2

We put in new laminate flooring on our first floor
Our new nephew, Martin, was born about a week ago

In between all that we have just been working, hanging, and running after Max. I know it does not seem very exciting, but it keeps us very busy (hence the lack of blogging over the past couple of months).

hello readers,

Do you remember us? Long time no blog. The Strehlo fam has been pretty busy the last couple weeks and I just haven't been in the blogging spirit. Luckily for you, I thought I would give it the old college try tonight. So what's new since we last talked? Let's see, the Pilots had our Tomten gig a few weeks back. In tomten tradition we got a steady drizzle all day. That didn't stop the rocking though. Unfortunately, our set was not so great, i'd say like 6/10 stars. We'll have to come back next year with a little more vigor and a new band name. I'll try to post some vids soon too.

Sam finished up her soccer season a little while ago, sounds like she is getting very Favre like on us. She said this was gonna be her last year but is now saying she'll be back next summer. I kinda got captivated by the world cup this year, enough that us boys might get a winter league going. Looking like a strong possibility. Not too much new with Max, he's getting bigger and crazier every day. We are just bracing ourselves for the terrible 2's coming next week. The big triathlon is next week as well. Just me and Jerry this year. Sara bowed out this year, some lame excuse like she's pregnant or something. I think that is about all we have. Should be another busy week this week. Sam has the "Wicked" play on Tuesday, family state fair trip on Wed. and the Twinks on Thursday. Plus the tri and a b day party Sat. If you are lucky you will get a post this weekend as well. Alright, on to the pics!

well devoted readers, we did it. Me and Sam completed year one of the marriage. Pretty good weekend. We got to see Ella and Caleb on Friday and Me and Sam celebrated on Saturday. Nothing too fancy, kept it pretty casual. Went over to Cafe Maude in Minneap. Pretty tasty, although it was one of those fancy places where they think the meat should be real pink. It actually tasted fine to me but Sam couldn't get past it. Don't have too many pics from the weekend, we just haven't been on our game. Next week should be plenty of pics, the big Tomten jam is going down next saturday. Should be great times.

Couldn't find any wedding pics so this will have to do.

Greeting readers! hope you all had a good 4th. Busy times at the Strehlo house. The Larson crew welcomed in Carson David this past week, almost a 10 pounder. Maggie went in to get induced and they ended up with a C section. Baby and mom are doing great. We didn't do an amazing job with pics this week but here are some below of the baby and the Henne party and none from Monday fun day at square lake. We ended up getting to swim for about an hour before it started pouring, not cool.

Hello All,

Been a little hiatus from the blog the last few weeks. Last 2 Sundays have been kinda crazy. Not too much new to report over here. Had a band practice Saturday, went pretty well, should be a solid show. Celebrated Jeremy's b day on Sat. night and me and Max did some shopping Sunday at the farmers market. Nothing too good out there yet.

** Random thoughts ****

I have been enjoying the world cup. Granted the U.S. game was poorly officiated and the jerk on the radio gave me the score of the game about an hour before I watched it, but that being said it was still pretty exciting. The New Zealand Italy game was about the most exciting tie I have ever seen too, really good game. I'll have to give the Premier League a shot when it starts up.

How come ladies are such jerks? Whenever I go biking and pass a dude 70% of the time I'm going to get a hi or nod. Passing the ladies? Probably about %40. And passing a fellow cycler, about 95%, gotta love the biker code.

Greetings readers, busy times for the Strehlo fam this last couple weeks, Memorial Day, birthdays, parties, concerts, etc. Here's some pics from the last weekend. Last night we went to She & Him at First Ave with Jerry & Sara. Good times. They were all business, just whipping through their songs. Concert was excellent, didn't love their encore selection but other than that it was very solid. We did see a girl going barefoot in first ave, that was disgusting. Today we are off to celebrate Lars' b day at famous daves, mmmmmm famous daves.

Got some other big news, looks like the Northernmost Pilots are going to be the last act to perform at the big TomTEN jam this year. Wow, what an honor. Basically in the last 4 years I have went from not playing music at all to jamming every week. Special thanks to the Wrenshall crew for putting this Dingwop together and getting me back to rocking out. Should be great times, Wayne made a pretty cool looking flyer too, you'll have to check out his site.

Hello readers, early Sunday post for you. Nothing too exciting to report. Had a BBQ at the Forys house on Friday, a little band practice on Sat. and Sam and Max are at a baby shower right now. Had a little hiatus, didn't feel like blogging last weekend. Got lots of pics for you from Mothers Day and this weekend. Went with the Hennes to the childrens museum on Saturday and that's about the only eventful thing we did. I was prepared for it to be a zoo in there but it wasn't bad at all, very nice!

Time for some weekly awards

The "I don't get it award" - Max has a sudden obsession with Thomas the Train and I don't get it. Have you seen the show? Pretty boring if you ask me, half the shows don't even have a story.

The "Bravo" award- To Wayner and the Drunkards of Ol Wrenshall. Really enjoy the music selection. I was hesistant to check out the Avett Bro's but he put a killer clip on and I checked em out, love em. The new swell season tune is very good as well.

The "I don't know why but it makes me mad" award- You know when you are getting ready to exit and the lane hasn't quite materialized yet but people are in such a hurry to get over to that lane, I hate those people.

The " We should have had this sooner award" - We just got DVR a couple days ago, amazing invention. Haven't put it to full use yet but I am looking forward to.

The "Really, Really????" Award- To the cable guy who managed to go stink up not 1, but both of our bathrooms in one visit. Really, Really??? I'm only glad I wasn't here to go through that uncomfortableness.

Pretty busy week for the Strehlo's. Sat. we had our 5k in IGH then I headed to a bachelor party for the big boss man (paul). Sunday Sam headed out to another shower for Maggie. Here are some pics from the weekend.

Top 3 Shows you should be watching:

1. Breaking Bad - 1st season was excellent, 2nd was pretty darn good, and this season is off to a very good start. Highly recommended.

2. Mad Men- Season 3 is starting fairly soon I think, get on board now.

3. Modern Family - Very funny show, wasn't a huge fan at first but it's coming along.

Do you ever watch some shows/ movies and you don't even know why you are watching them. They aren't horrible but they are not great either. The all time not the great but i'll watch it everytime is the movie Airborne. Caught it on TV last week and of course i HAD to watch it. Check out the clip, amazing! Pretty quiet weekend for the Strehlo fam. Sam & Max went to Maggies baby shower Saturday. The little guy should be here in less than 2 months, crazy. Sunday wa s haircut day, gave myself a cut then we gave Max his first buzz. He took it like a champ, no crying at all. I now cut 3/4 of the house, Sam is my last project. I just noticed we didn't get any good post haircut pics, next time I guess. Got my musical mojo back this week. Been listening to a lot of podcasts lately but I bought some new tunes this weekend. Hello readers and greeting to any new readers we snagged this weekend. We went out for a farewell to Sam's BFF Lindsay in Minneapolis. It was a fairly low key night, everyone behaved themselves. We started out at a Sake bar - MotoI. I guess its like the only sake brewery outside of Japan. I sampled some of the stuff and wasn't blown away. Then we went to 1-2 bars after that, nothing too exciting. We also had cake from Cafe Late and I managed to slam 3 pieces in about 15 min. mmmmmmmm! Sunday we had a nice breakfast and walked around by the twins stadium. Got to peak inside a little, looked real nice, very excited to go see a game. Here are some pics from the weekend, enjoy!

Greeting from good ol' MN. I spent Mon-Thurs. in Cali. but you'll be glad to hear I made it back safely. Even got to roam around Santa Monica for a couple hours and relax, no pics you'll have to take my word. Pretty uneventful weekend, although the Northernmost Pilots got together a great jam session, about 3-4 hours I think. Only managed to get 1 vid from the gig, we need to tighten up the screws on a few songs before we unleash them to the public. Got some vids of Max for you too, I just noticed we didn't take 1 pic of him this week, we are horrible parents!

Off to the weekly awards

The "I don't get it" Award. Me & Sam were both sick and have you ever noticed when you get stuffed up in one nostril and breathing in the other one can sometimes get too intense, like it's too much air to handle, I don't get it.

The "Nice Try" Award- To the girl who tried to sit in my window seat and weasel her way out of the middle cuz she thought it would be easier for me to get in while boarding. Nice Try!

The "Kids are Dangerous" Award - To Max for getting Sam & I sick. We should be over it shortly but i'm not looking forward to catching his flu's, cold's, etc. for the next 15 or so years.

Pretty nice little weekend for the Strehlo fam, got some cleaning done, got some shopping done, even got to have a late celebration of my b day. Got some good reviews of the thumbs up/ thumbs down last week. Let's try a version of the Pioneer Press and Strehlo family favorite Sainted & Tainted!!! People always love more tainted, so here you go!

Tainted- To the lady texting away on her cellphone in downtown St. Paul while her 3 & 5 yr old were playing 2 ft from the street. Your really not that important and your text was probably lame.

Tainted- To the car with the prime spot in front of Pop! that refused to get their butts in gear. After about 4-5 min of waiting they mouthed, "We're Leaving", you were leaving, I got one word for you, Moooooooove!

Tainted- To Pop!, who has delicious food but was somehow out of Root-beer & Cream Soda, who let's this happen?

Sainted- For the Strehlo fam for a nice night out in good old St. Paul, the very underrated brother of Minneap.

Sainted- To Supertarget, we made a family trip out there this morning and I got the grocery shopping done and Sam got the household items taken care of. We killed 2 birds with 1 stone.

Tainted- To whoever came up with killing 2 birds with 1 stone. Who was the person that needed to kill all these birds that they needed a more efficient way of doing it?

Sainted- To the Northernmost Pilots, for finally setting up some practice time. Summer is rolling around and it's time to get ready for our big tour! May be big band news, keep posted!!!

Sainted- To, "On the wings of Love" making a comeback. Such a ridiculous song, and it's so amazing at the same time!

Enjoying his first PBJ, went to the doc Friday and he was cleared to eat creamy peanut butter. He loved it.

Pretty uneventful week for the Strehlo fam. I celebrated the big 2-9 on Tuesday. Didn't really do too much. We went out for brunch Sunday in celebration. The breakfast/brunch buffet dining is very underrated in my opinion. Really, not much else happened. Let's try a brand new installment of thumbs up/thumbs down. Actually before we start that, let's have a restaurant review. We tried Smashburger this weekend. Pretty tasty burger, wasn't blown away by it though.

Thumbs Up- The Winter Olympics. Very Enjoyable 2 week run, liked the snowboarding, the biathlon was strangely enjoyable, the hockey game was excellent, although not the result.

Thumbs Down- The person who decided Ice Dancing should be in prime time. Really? Does anyone like Ice Dancing?

Thumbs Up- (Nerd Alert!) For 23 for finally showing some good old Next Generation episodes. You have been playing the same ones over and over again but are mixing it up, Kudos. They just showed the one where they have to travel back to 1800's San Fran. Classic Episode.

Thumps Down- For the Enterprise sending back a blind guy with a "visor" and an albino robot and no one in San Fran bats an eyelash. Really? That doesn't seem weird to any of you?

Thumbs Up- I said it before, but the brunch buffet. Where else can you get scrambled eggs, tortellini, cheesecake, and a salad on one plate?

Thumbs Up- For Sam getting me a clock that displays the time on the ceiling. Its lovely to just look up at night and be able to see the time.

Thumbs Down- For me for being to lazy to move my head 10 inches to see the time and for me for getting way too much enjoyment out of a clock.

Hello Readers,

Fresh off coming back from my trip from Colorado so this trip will be mainly about me since I had the camera with me. Max did go to the children's museum this weekend and had a blast so we'll have to go back and get pics of that. Back to me though, had a great time in CO visiting the Strehlo's good buddy Perry. He was an excellent host and hooked us up with some great deals. We will definitely be going back. We had great weather out there, it snowed every single day, like 4-7 inches each day = Fresh Pow and buttering the gnar! I'll post some pics and some comments, enjoy!Me & Perry at the top of Breckenridge, unless you wanted to climb up further. Lots of snow falling so not a lot of visibility up at the top.

#1 reason why Vail wasn't my favorite, long lines. The morning was really bad but it opened up after lunch.
I did like that vail had grills open so you could bring food and grill out. We brought some brats to eat. Here's Jerry demolishing one then spending the next hour complaining that he was full and gonna ralph. Unfortunately he didn't, that would've been hilarious.
Bowling shot. Team MN pulled out a victory over Team SD, which was all started over debating famous people from the respective states, long story short MN is way sweeter than SD.
Photo hunt- I am 90% sure this is a pic of the Hamline Pipers. Andy Seliga, is that you on the left? I'm gonna have to do research on this. That would simply be amazing if the Pipers were on a photo hunt in Colorado. **** After further research I think I may be wrong, ill keep you updated. *******
Enjoying some free hot apple cider. This was at Keystone and after 2 full days of boarding everyone was a little tired, but once we downed some hot cider, we were ready to go to work. It saved the day.

I feel like i say this a lot, but sorry for the lack of a post last weekend, just too busy. Spent last weekend in Nodak, North Dakota for you unhip folks, then I was in California all week. Weather wasn't horrible but I guess it was better than MN. Had my 4th reality tv celeb citing in the airport. Diem of RW/RR challenge fame. She was with a new man, not CT, can you believe it? I probably just lost about 80% of you. Anyway here are some pics, I thought I had something I wanted to talk about but forgot. O well, maybe next time.

hello all, long time no blog, ehh? The readers were going nuts so we have a special Monday post for you all. I feel I always say this, but it has been crazy around here. 2 weeks ago I just wasn't up to blogging, I guess there was a big football game that day or something. Yesterday me & Jerry did a little Sunday boarding, I had to make sure he was ready for our trip. What trip you say? Me & Jerry are going to Colorado to see our little Perry on the 17th. Before that the fam is headed to Nodak this weekend and I head to Cali the next day. Should be a crazy February. Lots of pics for you guys and 1 or 2 rants.

Commercials- I have to admit the Dominos commercials hooked me. I was legitimately intrigued about the new Pizza. We had it last Friday, it was pretty good, nothing great. I hadn't had Dominoes for awhile so it very well could have tasted the same. Bad commercial- AT&T. The ones with Luke Wilson saying how AT&T is better because you can surf the web and talk at the same time, really? That's all you got? Horrible commercial.

Hello all, we have been horrible at taking pics so not too much new to add visually, maybe i'll throw some old ones at ya. Pretty low key weekend. Went to one of our favorite spots on Saturday, the St. Clair Broiler, always tasty. Max enjoyed his first trip. Had Gma Sue's retirement party as well, congrats Sue! Watched the vikes take the whoopin stick out and headed to the Strehlo's for dinner and a small jam session. Me & Jerry learned a song in about 5 min. Once we tighten the screws on it, it should make the tour setlist. I promise we will be better about taking pics, I got a few good ideas in the hopper too.

we were pretty horrible parents this week, no pictures taken at all. Got nothing to post for ya. Got some special stuff for you Northernmost Pilot lovers out there. 2/3 of the band (Me & Jerry) got together Sat. night and hammered out a couple songs, even the one I was supposed to do for Wayne's circle of songs like 2 weeks ago. (Wayne- I wasn't sure about posting on the site, you'll have to give me sign in info and all that good stuff. ) We hammered out 3 tunes for our groupies, all in 1 take. Might have some more tunes for ya next week. The band needs to ramp up it's practice schedule for our big summer tour. Anyway, I'm posting the tunes on Youtube now, hopefully they pop up on the right.

Not too much else happening here, pretty boring weekend, which was nice. Too much running around in December.

another busy week for the Strehlo fam. New Years to celebrate, going to the Schoenrocks to see the northern crew that couldn't make it down for x-mas, painting the bathroom, going to the Zoo, etc. I think we are all starting to come down with a cold too, hopefully that's all it is.

Don't have a ton of pics for ya, but have at what I posted. I promise I will do my best to get some vids on here next week.

** Another new addition here. We were watching our Trueblood DVD, yes Sam has me watching vampire stuff, I guess it's popular now. Anyway, one of the most underrated "character actors" popped up. Stephen Root, AKA Jimmy James! Checked out his IMBD, that guy is in tons of great TV shows, . Newsradio of course, Seinfeld, Northern Exposure, King of the Hill, and Head of the Class! Also a few good movies- No Country for Old Men, Office Space, O Brother Where art Thou. You always hear about William H Macy and Phillip Seymour Hoffman, but Root doesn't get enough credit. Maybe it's because he doesn't use his middle name/initial. Regardless, here's to you Jimmy James. ******

Hello all, I am sure by now you have a little blog withdrawal. It's been a crazy couple weeks. I was in Houston 2 weeks ago, with bad weather it took 12 hours to get down, should have been like 4. Had to stay an extra day, got back Thursday night, then went to Somerset then Alexandria that weekend. Then it was X Mas week. No time for blogging. Special apology to Wayner, who created a circle of songs website, you should all check it out. Anyway, Jerry and I were gonna hammer out a tune X Mas Eve, but we didn't really get around to it. Xmas was good. Max enjoyed himself, getting lots of presents and running around with all of his cousins. I hope to have some songs posted soon, some more vids of max, just a better blog in general. You'll have to wait until things calm down, hopefully in the next couple weeks. Enjoy your week everyone.

Hello devoted readers. Not too much crazy happened this weekend with the Strehlo's. Max saw santa this weekend, he kinda froze but didnt cry or fuss. This guy goes to Houston tomorrow. Dont get too jealous, only there until Wednesday and its supposed to rain the next 2 days. Boo! Well, I better get to packing, here's some pics.

Hello All, not too much to report at the Strehlo house. Just watching the vikes game. I have a bad feeling about this, of course we are down 14-7 about 1 min after I said that. Hello all, 2 weeks since the last blog, been busy, been lazy, been bad with taking pics, little bit of everything. Still don't have a ton of pics for ya either. Thanksgiving was good, nice seeing the fam, of course we didn't take 1 pic though, you'll have to take our word for it. Just got back from the Henne's, good times. Little Joey is getting to be a pretty big boy.

Been a very busy week for the Strehlo's. We had our big grand opening for our new office today, lots of extra hours. I was hobnobbing with the mayor and board of directors from Eagan today, they were there for the big ribbon cutting. We also shot a commercial today and they interviewed me for some reason. I'm pretty sure it will be horrible. Should be on youtube in a couple weeks. Sam has been busy at work with meetings and such as well. Max has been running around like a crazy man. Walking a little bit more each day. Not too much else to report, i'm sure there is plenty missing, but I am too tired to think of them right now. Here's some pics for ya, enjoy the rest of the week.

not too much new to report here. I went up to Becker to visit the Werner's, sorry no pics, we did lay down a few jams, but I am having some problems with loading the vids onto the computer. Maybe soon. Sam went out to eat with her lady friends while I was gone, no pics from that either, we were bad this week. Not much else new to report, got a little writers block. Not too much to report with Max. He's getting big and is taking a step here and there, still prefers crawling as his main mode of transportation.

*** I was pretty disappointed in today's youth this weekend. Me and Wern played some hoops at the community center, there was some kids kicking a ball around and one time the ball whizzed like 6 inches from my face. No heads up, watch out! nothing. So I glared at the kid and didn't even get a sorry. I really wanted to yell at him, but I didn't. ******

Hello bloggers. Sorry for the late post, been busy. So what's new with us? Not too much. Halloween last weekend, didn't do too much. Me and Sam went to David Gray on Friday night at the Orpheum. Good venue, but I feel like every time we go to a concert it's at the Orpheum. Anyway, it was a really good show. We were a little afraid that it was gonna be too mellow but he rocked it out. No pics from that, you'll have to take our word. Working on a D. Gray song, should be up soon.

Max dressed up as an elephant for halloween, wasn't a big fan of the "hat" deal he had to wear to complete the outfit, great work by Gma Sue on the costume though. I was a little disappointed with the trick or treaters though, is that officially dead? Barely saw any kids out there.

**** Interesting poll #'s. 19 votes, very impressive, was expecting like 12 or so. This basically started because the Henne's think that 2 1/2 men is a good show. I really don't understand how anyone can like that show, I just don't get it. I like bad tv as much as the next guy, but I don't understand how that show can be enjoyable on any level. Little disappointed in the Lost showing, but that's okay, the 2nd season I think turned off a lot of people. I am Very excited for this season though. I liked the poll, maybe i'll post another one here. *****

Random thought of the day: What ever happened to people sporting a rabbits foot on their keychains? They weren't real, were they?

hello bloggerville, not too much to report this weekend. I had the Langer wedding Saturday, hopefully I didn't act too crazy. Sam hung out with her friend Lindsay. Sunday we had Sloppy Sr. & Jr. over (no relation), then off to the Strehlo's for Sunday dinner. Busy weekend. Anyway, during one of those visits we had a little conversation about TV shows. I'm gonna try not to sway your votes and say anything, but please vote on my little polls here. I'm interested to see what kind of tastes our readers have, hopefully good ones. Not too much else new, Max is taking some baby steps if forced, he really doesn't like it at all though.

nice lil weekend for the Strehlo fam. Visited with the rest of the Strehlo clan on Saturday for sam's belated b day celebration, then to the house of Henne Sunday. Good times. Got some pics for ya below.

** Me & Sam are also going to go on a limb and say that the hoarding show on TLC has the makings of an amazing show. Good TV. Monkey babies or whatever they call it, that's getting a little trashy. And of course if you haven't watched the challenge on MTV- (The ruins this year) than I just don't know what to tell you, should be an epic season. ****

Not too much else, have a great week everyone. Maybe a special blog tomorrow, we'll see. I think there's some game tomorrow, the vikes and somebodies old team. Wait its Ryan Longwells former team, should be drama!!!!!

The was my meal, I think they just chopped off a pigs leg and gave it too me. It was pretty good although i'm not a huge fan of sauerkraut. Sara "The Pit" Strehlo had a pretty large meal too. Of course she wolfed it down then had some coconut cake later. What a champ! She wasn't feeling too hot later though.

Hello Bloggerville,

Again I apologize for the lack of posting, just been a hectic last month or so. We actually had a relaxing weekend and it was wonderful. Not too much new to report. Spent some time with friends, Max got his first haircut and Sam filled in for bowling again. Highlight of the night was her dropping her ball on the approach, high comedy. I'll just comment on Nic's blog instead. I am also a big fan of the horn. I don't get to break it out too often, but when I do I also use it. For road rage the only prescription is more horn. Sam always goes nuts when I use the horn though, I think she thinks the person is gonna pull out a gun and shoot us or something. Alright though, that's my mini rant of the day.

Hello all, sorry for the recent bouts in inactivity on the site. We've had a case of the blogging Mondays for about 15 days straight. Things are starting to settle down now so we will try to blog with great fury. Nothing too much on this front, I'll post some pics and try to spin a little web of a tail with them.

Went to the park on Labor Day for a little bit. Max of course loves the swings, liked the slides. He climbed up one of them all by himself, i was impressed. He's a little monkey.

Having fun at IGH days. Max said it was no Oakdale Summerfest, but he had a good time.
Sam and baby Joey. Sam had to fill in on the bowling squad Saturday. I think i coached them to victory, I think. not entirely sure if they won or not. The whole handicap thing was throwing me.

after watching a couple games and not bowling you tend to get a little bored. This was my favorite bored pic I took. Seriously though, what kind of bowling alley doesnt have the gophers game but you can watch an episode of CSI?

Hola Blogerinos,

Been a busy last 2 weeks for the Strehlo's. We apologize for the lack of posts. Here's a special labor day whopper for ya. Where to start? I won't bore you with details, but we had Mama JoJo and Papa T's wedding anniversary dinner, a meet n greeter with the Forys fam, and that doesn't even get us to this weekend. Max turned the big 0-1 on Friday. Little fam celebration Friday, he wolfed down 2 mini cupcakes. Good times.

Saturday was the big triathlon. Me & Jerry both did better than last time, at least according to the unofficial results. Still waiting for them to post them on the i-net.

It was one year ago today that our little man was born. He has made the last year absolutely wonderful. We cannot imagine life without him. To celebrate, here are some pics from the day he was born. So little!
