Yeehaw

Hello devoted readers,

Well, I promised a super post last week and I failed you.  Fear not, I think this post will make up for it.  We had a fun filled weekend up with the Schoenrock clan in Alexandria this past weekend and some other developments on the Strehlo front.  On to the pics!

Max taking a nap after a long day at the pool.  I guess Carrie thought it was a good idea and joined him.

The great grandkids with the Grandpa Chester bears.

Smores!
Playing a 20 questions like game.  Max may or may have not cheated.  His first question was, Am I a Hammer?  Of course he was!  Funny stuff.

The waterpark was much better than advertised.  They had 2 smaller slides that Max could go down.  He even went by himself a few times.  Then they had 3 bigger slides.  The 2 solo rides were basically pitch black the whole time, they tossed you into the water pretty quick when you were done.  The other one was a tube ride that you could double up on.  Went with Jerry on that and he screamed like a little girl, possibly the highlight of the weekend.  Later went with Kelli and she did the exact same thing.  Good times.

Max decided to Cowboy up this weekend.  He wore his boots about half the day Saturday.  Sunday he put them on and fell asleep like 30 min. later.
Last pic of Chad with the long hair.  Chopped it tonight (Loud gasp from the crowd).

From Jerry's phone.  Gma JoJo and Me pounding 40's.

Hopefully the blog looks alright, they switched the whole setup on me.  Might take a few weeks to get the hang.

Hey Howareya Hey Howareya

Hello devoted readers,

Wayner's posting inspired this guy to put the electronic pen to paper. In my defense, we have been pretty awful about taking pictures lately. We did manage to take a couple recently, so here we go! Hoping to have a decent sized post for you next weekend.

That is a pretty sweet stache.
The just got out of bed look.
The, "mom wants me to do the beaver face but ill just open my mouth" look
the, "my mom is a weirdo face"
Max decided during easter egg dying that he liked vinegar. I gave him a little sip and needless to say, he wasn't a fan.

I thought I had some video of the impromptu Easter dance session, but I can find it on the camera for some reason. Maybe next time.

Inspired by Wayne's blog, here is the video of the week. One of my favorite bits from Craig Kilborn. Very underrated late night host.

Here's a bonus one for you too. Say it with me, YAMBO!

We're Back!

Hello devoted readers,

Sorry for the long delay. I wish I could say we were busy busy busy doing exciting things, but that's sadly not the case. Been business as usual at the Strehlo House. I'll post a couple pics and maybe a couple random thoughts and we'll call it a day. Sound good? Hopefully we can get back into the swing of things here...

What Max is saying these days:

Let's do this!
Daddy, aren't we friends, don't we share?

Beard watch 2012. Since Wayne was showing off his beard, I thought I'd give the crowd a glance at the whiskers. Might be chopping it off in a week or so. We had a good run.

Sesame Street Live!
Nice face Max.
Not sure if this one is better or worse.
We have been skating 3 times so far. First time was pretty much a disaster, 2nd time went really well and the 3rd time was a semi disaster. Sitting on the ice was his preferred position.

Suggestions of the Week:

I recently ran through the first 3 seasons of Damages. A lawyer drama that resolves around 1 case per season. Good stuff. I think it started on FX and moved to a direct TV channel. I think it's 24esque in that 3-4 seasons might be enough. One of the main actresses is Rose Byrne and I think she might be Sam's doppelganger. Might have to do a side by side comparison soon. Sam claims she doesn't see it.

Popular Crime- Bill James- Actually read this one in the boundary waters with Jerry. Very good read. He breaks down about 25 or so of the most popular murder cases. I would recommend if you are into that sort of thing.

Video Clips of the week:

A new song from the latest Dr. Dog effort - At First Ave this Friday!

I stumbled upon this gem too. Remember the show Rich Girls? Yeah, I thought it was amazing too. Here is a classic clip of what they thought of us Midwest folk, high comedy.
