Highway 61

Greetings readers,

Been throwing some weekday posts at you, hopefully you have been checking daily like you should!  What's new with the Strehlo's?  Glad you asked.  Just got back from a trip to Duluth and our dogs are barking a bit.  You young folks can look up that phrase. Good times were had by all, Max even cried when we started leaving.  This was after on the way up that he said he would rather spend the night with Uncle Eric.  Well, enough talk, onto the pics.  Even have a special video for our newest blog reader, though I'm not sure this music is everyone else's cup of tea.

Pre Duluth stop to the Grand Ol Creamery with Martin & co.

Ice Cream kisses, Max went marshmellow, I went pistachio.
Sara practicing with life with 2 kids.

Checking out the goats and chickens after a meal at the Gasthuas. Notice the giant hole Max is about to fall into.  Great carpentry work there.
Sorry Wayne and Dell, not this time!  Only a few more weeks until the big Tomten jam.  Good times are officially a'comin.
Emptying the plates after the Duluth Grill.  Highly recommended, good stuff. Locallly grown ingredients for my crunchy folk.
The falls.  Lot more intense than last time.  Guessing the 8 inches of rain helped that out.
Max with one of his many goofy smiles.

Split Rock Lighthouse.  Might have been the highlight of the trip.  Nice and fairly empty, great weather.  That was the first time I remember being there.

 Hanging out in Canal Park
 The Rose Garden
The only mommy daddy pic.  Check out those sweet orange lenses!
 Max running the train.
 Daddy's turn.

Thought this was a pretty cool logo.
And this a pretty cool car.
Running around in the train.  Mom didn't care for the tight spaces.

Capping the trip off with one more crazy smile picture.

#151

Well folks we missed a monumental post last time out.  According to the good people at blogger.com, this is our 151st post.  I guess we'll have to wait until #200 to get a good celebration going.  Look for that in 2029.  What's new with the Strehlo's you ask?  Well, not a whole lot.  Just enjoying summer, got a couple trips planned.  Should be good stuff.  Well, onto the pics!

 Cooking time with Ma
 Too Loud
The best of the Joe and Max Pics
Max & Martin.  The Schunk family stopped by quickly on Saturday and of course we didn't get any picutres.  Their new dog was basically an Otis twin too.

The review of the week: Drive

Had high hopes for this one based on critics, word of mouth, etc.  Let me save you the trouble- LAME! didn't like it one bit.  The fam watched the muppets this weekend too.  Wasn't expecting much going into it, but i was pleasantly surprised, two thumbs up.

Video of the Week:  Angel from Montgomery.  John Prine tune, many covers, but I think Bonnie does it best.

Here is yours truly giving it a shot.  Posted another new song and some more vids of Max.

Going to the Chapel

Hello devoted readers!

Well, Maggie and Bryan's wedding went down this weekend.  As usual, here are some pics below with some comments.  Enjoy!

The Wedding Party
Max & Carson

Pretty nice setup.  Scoreboard had a little slideshow for Maggie and Bryan going.
Me and the little man.  He had a jacket and tie but took those off.

Max behaved quite nicely all day.  This pic was probably 10 minutes after he threw up.  Must have gotten broccoli or something stuck in the throat and ralphed it all back up.  Luckily it all went back on the plate.  Good times!

Speech, Speech, Speech, Speech!

This might have been Bruce Springsteen song 12 or 14.  Did hear a wedding first, they got the Led out, going with Stairway to Heaven.  Interesting choice.

Zombies!!!!!

Let's go home!!!!!!

Macx was a trooper, he made it all night.  I think he could've used a longer nap though, he wasn't his normal boogie down self for the reception.

Clip of the week!

We (me & Sam) might be going to NY in a few months.  Possibly trip destinations:

Yeehaw

Hello devoted readers,

Well, I promised a super post last week and I failed you.  Fear not, I think this post will make up for it.  We had a fun filled weekend up with the Schoenrock clan in Alexandria this past weekend and some other developments on the Strehlo front.  On to the pics!

Max taking a nap after a long day at the pool.  I guess Carrie thought it was a good idea and joined him.

The great grandkids with the Grandpa Chester bears.

Smores!
Playing a 20 questions like game.  Max may or may have not cheated.  His first question was, Am I a Hammer?  Of course he was!  Funny stuff.

The waterpark was much better than advertised.  They had 2 smaller slides that Max could go down.  He even went by himself a few times.  Then they had 3 bigger slides.  The 2 solo rides were basically pitch black the whole time, they tossed you into the water pretty quick when you were done.  The other one was a tube ride that you could double up on.  Went with Jerry on that and he screamed like a little girl, possibly the highlight of the weekend.  Later went with Kelli and she did the exact same thing.  Good times.

Max decided to Cowboy up this weekend.  He wore his boots about half the day Saturday.  Sunday he put them on and fell asleep like 30 min. later.
Last pic of Chad with the long hair.  Chopped it tonight (Loud gasp from the crowd).

From Jerry's phone.  Gma JoJo and Me pounding 40's.

Hopefully the blog looks alright, they switched the whole setup on me.  Might take a few weeks to get the hang.
